Newcastle Occupational Health and Hygiene : About Us

Newcastle Occupational Health and Hygiene is part of Newcastle Primary Care Trust. The department has a team of professionals providing an occupational health and hygiene services to the employees to Newcastle Primary Care Trust but also to other NHS Trusts in the area. We also have a large client base of businesses mainly in the north east. 

An employer’s biggest asset is its workforce. Newcastle Occupational Health and Hygiene can work with them to promote healthy workplaces by carrying out monitoring and introducing health surveillance programmes to help prevent employees becoming sick as a result of going to work.  We can also assist employers with managing sickness absence. When employees are absent from work, we will work with the employer to facilitate the return to work, early intervention being paramount in the success of the return to work.
